PRACTICE PHILOSOPHY

Christina Hart, Acupuncturist and Owner of Guiding Heart Acupuncture

Hello and welcome to Guiding Heart Acupuncture.

In a world with so much filling our lives, it takes an amount of determination to prioritize your own health and well being. As a member of your health care team my goal is to facilitate your optimum wellness with compassion. This can take many forms including assessment and treatment of any health/pain conditions, recommending lifestyle changes, prescribing herbal formulas and/or referring you to other providers who will best support you in your health journey.

I practice Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) incorporating acupuncture, gua sha, moxa, cupping, body work, and herbal medicine. I practice with an awareness of and reverence for biomedicine, as I believe both Eastern and Western medicine are pertinent to your holistic health care.

I invite persons of every background, ethnicity and orientation. All are welcome here.

I look forward to meeting you!

"When you touch one thing with deep awareness,
 you touch everything.

PHILOSOPHY

ABOUT ME

My name is Christina Hart, I am the owner of Guiding Heart Acupuncture.

Born in Los Angeles (CA), raised on Bainbridge Island (WA), and now residing in Oregon City (OR), I have lived my whole life on the west coast.

I received dual Bachelor degrees from the University of California, Santa Cruz in both Feminist Studies and Community Studies, with an emphasis in Public Health. My thesis followed a six-month internship with an organization conducting health outreach and HIV testing amongst underserved communities in Oakland, CA. While passionate about public health, I graduated in the aftermath of the 2008 financial crisis, so landed in the familiar arms of the service industry.

I worked for a rapidly expanding coffee company for six years in the Bay Area, first as a barista, then store manager, then store development manager, and finally as a facilities maintenance coordinator. Over the years, acupuncture was my stress relief through 80-hour work weeks. It eventually dawned on me that acupuncture was a perfect pathway for my passions, a culmination of public health and one-on-one relationship.

I decided to move to Portland, where I attended the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine (OCOM), receiving a Master's in Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine in 2020. I practiced in Camas, WA for three years before transitioning to my own practice in Oregon City.

When I am not at work, I'll be cultivating my yard and garden at home and spending time with my two dogs.
